This class is for anyone from the beginner who wants to learn the basics to the advanced student who would like help tackling a specific project. If you would like to schedule a one-on-one lesson let us know ~ we will be glad to schedule a lesson at your convenience.
Sock Class ~ One Sock on Two Circulars, $60
Wednesdays, May 5, 12, 19, 26, 1pm - 3pm
As a student in this sock class you will knit socks from the toe up on two circular knitting needles one at a time. You will learn the Turkish cast-on, joining in the round, working with two circular needles, increasing, decreasing, and reading a pattern! (Intermediate Class)
Sock Class ~ Two Socks at a Time on Two Circulars, $40
Wednesdays, May 5, 12, 19, 26, 1pm - 3pm
In this class you will build on the information from the One Sock on Two Circulars class as you learn to knit two socks at a time!
Prerequisite: One Sock on Two Circulars Class (Intermediate Class)
Thursdays, May 6, 13, 20, 27, 1pm - 3pm
In this class you will learn increasing, decreasing, shaping, and finishing techniques. Click here to check out the pattern for this lovely cardigan ~ please print the pattern out and bring it with you to class.
Requires: yarn, and needles. (Intermediate Class)
Intermediate Project Class, $20 per session
Tuesdays, May 4, 11, 18, 25, 10am - 12pm
Join us to work on a project that you have always wanted to make but are hesitant to attempt on your own.
Fridays, May 7, 14, 21, and 28, 10am - 12pm
Join Winnie Duhe as she teaches you to knit a series of Aran Afghan squares from the book titled The Great American Aran Afghan. You will learn to read charts, work cables and bobbles, increase, and decrease among many other interesting and useful techniques. Requires: Book, stitch markers, yarn notebook, 24" #7 needles. (Intermediate Class - Students must know the long tail cast-on, how to knit and purl, and the basics of reading a pattern.)
Students will be taught the basics of knitting while developing motor skills, dexterity, concentration and mathematics. These classes are for 7 to 16 year olds. Call to schedule at your convenience.
Notes about classes at Yarn Nook:
Class sizes are restricted to a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8 students in each class. If a class does not meet the minimum enrollment requirement, it will be cancelled and full refunds will be made.
