Project Helmetliner

The Yarn Nookers are starting a new charity project beginning this month! We will be knitting and crocheting helmet liners for our troops to help to keep them warm this winter. The son of one of our Yarn Nookers will be leaving for Afghanistan at the beginning of 2010, and we hope to stitch enough helmet liners for his entire platoon! Come by Yarn Nook to pick out your yarn and to get a copy of the pattern for the project. Please note that we have tweaked the pattern instructions as per suggestions from military personnel, so please take the time to get our revised instructions from Kim! You may want to visit the Citizen SAM website to read more about this hugely successful and very worthwhile endeavor.

Here is a photo of one of the helmetliners we have knitted so far!
